Your Itinerary for a Perfect Fall Weekend at The Cove
Beginning September 10, The Cove at Sylvan Beach will welcome guests for two-night stays. This is the perfect time to enjoy a shorter getaway and all that Upstate New York has to offer during the autumn months. To help make planning your mini vacation at The Cove easy, we’ve created an itinerary that will ensure you enjoy the best of our region during your stay.
Day One
Grab a Quick Lunch – and Ice Cream – at Sylvan Beach Supply Co.
Once you’ve settled into your two- or three-bedroom cottage, swing by Sylvan Beach Supply Co. for a quick, tasty lunch. Our cafe menu offers delicious burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and pizza that are sure to hit the spot. You’ll also find some of the most creative ice cream sundaes and milkshakes around to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Rent a Pontoon Boat
Summer may be a great time to boat, but there’s nothing like a cool fall afternoon on the sparkling waters of Oneida Lake. Choose from our selection of pontoon, deck, and fishing boats available for rental, then cruise and enjoy the views, or reserve fishing gear from our lake fun packages. The rental includes everything you need except bait and good luck!
Of course, the best way to enjoy boating on Oneida Lake is with a week-long stay at The Cove! A pontoon boat and dedicated boat slip are included with each weekly rental, so you can experience lake living to the fullest.
Enjoy an Evening Around the Campfire
Every cottage at The Cove comes equipped with a fire pit and gas grill, delivering the perfect fall evening just outside your door. Grill up family favorites for dinner and watch the sun go down as you reminisce about a great day. After dinner, break out the s’mores for a treat that’s almost as sweet as the memories you’ll make.
Day Two
Start the Day with Beach Yoga
Beginning your day with waterfront views and simple stretches is a great way to relax, unwind, and get into that vacation mindset. The Cove has partnered with local studio Simply Grow Yoga to offer three-times-weekly beach yoga classes on the shores of Oneida Lake for guests who want to stay on top of their workout routine or simply embrace a more mindful pace. Visit our website for more details on class times and discounts for guests of The Cove.

Head to Verona Beach State Park less than 10 minutes from The Cove for a one-of-a-kind nature experience on the Woods and Wetland trail, which wanders along Oneida Lake and Black Creek, through cattail marshes, and along bottomland hardwood swamps. Prefer to take it easy? Bring a camp chair or beach towel and enjoy the beautiful view of the water from a sandy beach!
Immerse Yourself in the Arts

If you’re staying with us before September 18, be sure to check out the landmark Norman Rockwell exhibition on display in addition to films, the Art Odyssey interactive gallery for kids, and more.
An Evening at Turning Stone Resort Casino
A visit to Turning Stone Resort Casino will offer the perfect end to a perfect day – and so many ways to have fun! Enjoy Forbes Four Star Award winning fine dining at Wildflowers or TS Steakhouse, or grab a more laid back bite to eat at Sushi Sushi, Peach Blossom, or Upstate Tavern. After dinner, there will be plenty of time to check out the gaming floor for slots and table games.
On weekends, you’ll also find the best regional live entertainment and nightlife at Exit 33. Swing by The Gig for a rocking good time, go country at Tin Rooster, or step back in time to a more glamorous era with cocktails at Turquoise Tiger. The resort casino is also home to regular shows by national acts in comedy and music, so check the Turning Stone events calendar for any shows you might like to catch.
Of course, there’s no need to wait for evening to enjoy Turning Stone. Make a spa day at Sk^:n^: (ph.
